Rebel ran a great sale a couple weeks ago, so I took advantage of it to order some combat flatbeds, more Earth Force Marines, and a copy of their Modern Havok rules. First onto the painting table were the combat flatbeds. Gilles applied the standard paintjobs but I decided to increase their flexibility a bit by modelling some cargo.
I started off by cutting a base of plasticard to fit the bed of the vehicle, then gluing bits of junk from the bits box (and some of Khurasan's "vehicle stowage") to the squares, and painting with grey tones. A Badab Black wash, and Robert's your mother's brother, as they say.
I like the flexibility of the models, as they can be run laden or unladen, and the cargo pallets can serve as useful objective markers when we finally have a game.
