Ignatum Warhounds

I finished two warhounds for Legio Ignatum for the big New Years game next week. I found the black and yellow stripes to be the most challenging on these. I think it’s because the angle is more extreme than on the other titans. I made the most use of magnets on these guys and all the weapons are interchangeable. I didn’t bother with any decals since there are no Ignatum decals and I couldn’t see any logical place for the wasp symbol.

  1. I like the two on the left, they match together like a pair of gloves. While the ones on the right share a lot of the colours from the lefties and each look great individually, they don't look as if they're from the same legion imho. Maybe it's because the lefties are do similar to each other.
Perhaps if you painted stripes on the 2nd warhound's head?

  2. It’s a matter of camera perspective as well. I was going to add more pictures, but settled on the ones in the post. From a top down or side perspective you see more of the stripe on all 4 titans that helps bring it together. My hope is it’s more obvious on the gaming table. I probably should have put stripes on the warlords front shoulder pad which would have tied them together from the front, but after looking online it seemed that everyone was doing that. I guess I opted to make each titan a bit more individualistic and let their legion association come together when paired against another legion. The most important factor is will any of the titans be mistaken for either Mortis, Gryphonicus or Krytos which are the other legions the group has collected. Anyway they’re done and I need to move on. I have a bit of a backlog to get through!

    1. That makes sense, you can see a few of these stripes in the picture but they're a bit obscured by the carapace. Having seen the other legions I don't think anyone is going to mix these up.
Sorry if I sounded a bit too negative, that wasn't my intention, it's just a minor point I raised.

  3. No worries. I think If I had done the Warlord last instead of first, I would have changed the scheme slightly. Oh well.

  5. Fantastic work Mike - you and Dallas have been setting a new standard for collection escalation with Adeptus Titanicus. Have not seen a painting arms race like this since our dive into 28mm moderns...that was, what, 10 years ago? Wow.

Anyway you have a full battle maniple ready. But, that said, I look forward to seeing more Warlord Titans - and Knights - from you. After all, I bet that Warlord crew is kinda lonely...
