Throne of Skulls, Las Vegas 2011 - Army Showcase

On June 17-19 I attended the Throne of Skulls tournament in Las Vegas, NV. Over half of the 198 participants were playing in the Warhammer 40K Championship.

Jen and I made a vacation of it. We landed a couple of days early, and we stayed on for a week afterwards. Lots do see and do in Sin City!

Here are some of the many finely modeled and painted armies that were brought out for all three games being played - Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, and Lord of the Rings.

There were lots more armies and models, but I could not get to them all. Some more will be highlighted in my forthcoming battle reports.

  1. Who's the hottie in the Harlequin army picture? Was she lost?

In all seriousness, those are some impressive looking armies

  2. IIRC, she was the significant other of a gamer from California.

I was pleased by the quality of the painting and modeling on display.

  3. I guess Mike was referring more to the "modelling" aspect...

Great post, Dave. Some excellent armies there.
